Disclosure
Where the money comes from.
Short version: one page on this site carries a referral link, and we may earn a share of trading fees from readers who register through it. Everything else is on this page.
How the link works
This site carries a Binance referral link. If you open an account through it, Binance may pay us a share of the trading fees you go on to pay. The code attached to that link is BN367.
We are not an agent, partner or representative of Binance or of any other exchange, and nothing here is endorsed or reviewed by one.
Where this appears:
- One guide — the account opening walkthrough — contains the single link to the exchange's sign-up page with that code attached. It is marked in the link text and there is a plain-language note directly underneath it.
- The home page shows the code itself, with a button to copy it. There is no exchange link on the home page.
- No other page on this site links to an exchange sign-up page. Links to help-centre and documentation pages carry no code and earn nothing.
What it means for you: registering with the code adds nothing to the fees the exchange charges you, and it can take up to 20% off them, though the figure that actually applies is whatever the exchange displays on its own page at the time you register, and the exchange can change its programme whenever it likes. We do not control that number and we are not going to state it as a promise.
What the arrangement does not change
No exchange commissions, reviews, approves or sees anything written here before it is published. There is no editorial relationship of any kind, and none of the security guidance on this site would read differently if the referral programme ended.
Two specific commitments, because they are the ones that matter in this subject:
- Where a platform's behaviour is worth criticising, it gets criticised. Several guides here point out settings that are convenient for the platform and worse for the reader.
- Nothing on this site tells you to keep funds on an exchange. More than one guide argues the opposite for long-term holdings, which is not what a referral site is supposed to say.
Risk notice
This site is about account security. It is not investment advice, financial advice, legal advice or tax advice, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything.
Crypto assets are volatile and can lose a very large proportion of their value, including all of it. Leveraged products can lose more than the amount you put in. Nothing in these guides reduces market risk in any way — the settings described here protect an account from other people, and offer no protection at all against a price.
Funds held on an exchange are a claim on a company. That company can restrict access for reasons that have nothing to do with you, and it carries risks that self-custody does not. That is a trade-off worth making deliberately rather than by default.
Some jurisdictions place additional restrictions on crypto assets, and on which services an exchange may offer to residents there. What is available to you, and under what rules, depends on where you live. Nothing on this site is written with any particular country's regime in mind.
Accuracy and corrections
Specific claims about how a platform behaves are tied to the date the relevant page was read, and those dates are listed on the sources page. Interfaces change. If something here no longer matches what you see, it is probably out of date rather than disputed, and we would like to know.
Corrections are made in the text itself. We do not leave an incorrect sentence in place with a note underneath.
Privacy
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which guides are read. It loads a script from Google on every page, and Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and sends Google information about your visit, such as the pages you open, how you arrived, your approximate location and your device and browser type. Google's own privacy policy covers how it handles that data. You can block it with your browser's tracking protection or with Google's opt-out add-on; the site works the same either way.
Nothing else on the site sets cookies or loads third-party scripts. The three tools run in your browser: their code does not send or store anything you select, and they keep working with the network disconnected.
If you email us, we have your email address and whatever you put in the message, which we use to reply and nothing else.
Fonts and images are served from this domain. Following an external link takes you to a site with its own policies, which we do not control.
Contact
One address, read by the person who writes the site: wuxrin@wuxrin.com.
Useful things to send: corrections, a primary source for one of the gaps listed on the sources page, or a question that the guides do not answer. We cannot help recover a lost account, cannot contact an exchange on your behalf, and have no influence over any review or restriction. Anyone claiming otherwise is not us.
